SOMETHING ABOUT ERIC

I love being a photographer. To capture a moment in time, a slice of life, a compelling frame, a picture that I know is good, excites and calms me at the same time. Everything else fades away. There is a sense of discovery and adventure in a good image. It is the art of it.

People, Places, Perspective reflects my view of the world, at least what I have seen of it. Having been born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin to open minded, liberal and loving parents, my worldview is as one place, where cultures, ethnicities, geography and politics are common to us all. I strive to document, with an eye for composition, those places where I happen to be whether it is a business trip that took me there, personal travel, or a self-appointed project. My approach is planned but spontaneous.

It wasn’t until I was about 30 that I began my photography journey. I learned my way around a darkroom and enjoyed my hobby, that I wish I had started much earlier. Having retired as a non-profit fundraising executive in 2022, I  am now taking my time with my Nikon (and iPhone camera) more seriously. My work has been recognized in nearly 20 exhibits and competitions since my retirement. I am very pleased to share on this website a bit of my decades of taking photos.

I live in Colorado with my wife, a highly talented artist in her own right, with two grown children nearby and now three grandchildren. I dedicate my website to all of them.
